National Productivity Awards
The National Productivity Awards Program could be introduced as a series of major scheme of competition being conducted targeting schools / Public sector and production and the Services sector. Also this is the major competition for which the highest number of institution approved in Sri Lanka. The series of competition for National Productivity Awards organized by the National Productivity promotions is divided in to three main groups.
|Based on the number of classes in Schools school section is divided in to four (04) groups.|
|Considering the services provided by the public sector institutions this sector is divided in to six (06) groups.|

|Based on the nature of the institution and the number of employees this sector in divided in to six (06) groups.|
|The most important feature of this year’s competition for National Productivity Awards is the appointment of Productivity Promotion Officers and a Executive from every institution. For Productivity Promotion Officers and Executives, a five day training program was arranged and in that program in addition to fundamental productivity concepts, the subjects such as leadership and strategic planning were also discussed.|
|Obtaining of detailed reports from the schools and public sector were completed on 30/03/2012. Obtaining detailed reports from the goods and services sector is due to close on 30/04/2012. Accordingly, Preliminary Survey would be held in the month of May 2012 and the Examinations in respective places of these selected institution, is due at the end of the month of May.|
